Activities in Cahuita
Cahuita offers amazing beaches.
Near the hotel at only twenty minutes walking, you can find Playa Negra, with its fine and silvery shiny sands, besides that this beach was awarded with the Bandera Azul Ecológica (for good water and beach quality). Among the most known and beautiful beaches are Playa Blanca and Playa Puerto Vargas, both with clear sands and protected within the National Park.
With no doubt, Cahuita is an authentic Caribbean town, this is shown by its surroundings and customs, under the influence of the afro-caribbean culture, heritage from their first inhabitants, which stays still alive. In their cuisine, the use of species such as curry, rosemary, cloves, annis, and pepper, mixed with ginger, pineapple, peanut or hot pepper is a remembrance of the african flavors.
Along Cahuitas streets, the echoes of the ancient african rhythms can still be heard, nowadays they have been transformed into Calypso and cleary influenced the Reggae.
There is a trail that goes from one side of the park to the other one, through a very rich forest in diversity of animal and vegetal species. You can enter the park at one side and exit it at another one, both are connected by the coastal highway and there is a bus service.
